Thor Helical Tied Arch Lintel bed-joint reinforcement wires are manufactured from single rolled section,
corrosion resistant, austenitic, marine grade, 316 stainless steel wire. The production techniques used in manufacture of
the helical wire enhances its ultimate tensile strength to more than double that of conventional stainless steel bars.

Available in either 6mm or 9mm diameters available up to 6000mm in length which may be formed
and cut on site as required.
Minimizes cracking of the masonry at the corners of openings as active loads are dispersed 500 mm into the masonry
either side of the opening which is held in tension.
2nd Generation manufactured profile enhances the mortar bond and composite strength.
The fully concealed system is aesthetically pleasing and would enhance rendered masonry finishes.
No mortar joint expansion due to “rust” growth.

The wires being formed with large work hardened helical fins that extend radially around and along
an unhardened core, act in effect like a torsion spring providing a unique elastic yield attribute which accommodates
differential building movements and brick growth.
The attached pdf downloads illustrate indicative load tables for 6mm and 9mm Tied Arch Lintels which are designed in
accordance with AS 3700 – 2001 with deflection limited to Span/500. These may be used as a reference check by the
structural design engineer. The design data is detailed in the tables.
Design data for the Ollises original 6mm helical stainless steel reinforcing wire was been verified by practical tests
on 4,200mm clear span beams by the Department of Civil Engineering and Surveying at the University of Newcastle under
the supervision of Professor A.W. Page.
